Relationship Breakdown

The law treats married couples differently to those that are not married.

There is an ongoing misconception that exists about "common law marriage" and that this is somehow covered under English law. It is not. Instead, under English law, unmarried couples are treated quite differently to those who have married, often most unfairly.

At Parrish Family Law we find that disputes between couples who are neither married nor registered civil partners involving child maintenance or property owned either jointly by them (or solely in the name of one of them) can be complex from a legal perspective.

So if you are unmarried and your relationship has broken down speak to us. We can offer clear advice and guidance on property issues and child maintenance whilst representing your best interests.
